Domino’s Pizza App Lets You Make Pizzas and Order Them

Domino’s Pizza has found a unique way to interact with iPad users and sell some pizzas in the process. The pizza restaurant has partnered with Crispin Porter + Bogusky ad agency to develop an app that allows users to make a pizza onscreen and even order them in real life.
The Domino’s Pizza Hero simulates the experience of its workers as they learn the basics of creating its famous pizzas. As a player, you get to make your own pizza starting from kneading the dough, spreading the sauce, sprinkling the cheese, placing the toppings, and cutting the slices before the timer runs out. The first five levels of the game is called “Pizza School,” which is the actual training program at Domino’s. Once you get to level six, your scores are based on reviews from in-game consumers, which is similar to Domino’s Tracker, the company’s real-time feed of customer comments.
Players can even compete against each other for a slot on the leaderboard and share scores on Facebook and Twitter. If you want to order your creation, hit the “Make An Order” tab in the app and purchase your own pizza via Dominos.com. There are, however, some parameters about creating your own pizza. For instance, you cannot knead the dough into unusual shapes or spread the pizza sauce to just half the dough. And in case the app crashes, you can simply order your own pie at Domino’s.com using the iPad’s browser.
