Google has unveiled a new Chrome browser app that keeps you connected with your Gmail messages even if you cannot get a connection. The Offline Google Mail is built to support offline access, thus allowing users to read, respond, search, and archive mail while without Internet access. The app will also automatically synch messages and queud actions while the Chrome browser is running and online connection is available.
To start Offline Gmail after installation, just open a new tab in Chrome and notice the Gmail Offline icon on the tab pane. Clicking on the icon would load the service. As mentioned, the app only works in Chrome, much like how Angry Birds in Google Plus works best in Chrome.
Also in the mix are the upcoming offline versions of Google Docs and Calendar, which are expected to be available next week. Users can activate it by simply going through the settings and look for the offline tick box.
